Windows 11 Pro

Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw

LaserJet 5200tn

Hello,

I can see the LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw in my iphone.

How can I connect (Add) the LaserJet 5200tn to my list of printer in my iPhone ( iOS 18 )?

This LaserJet 5200tn is an old printer without a WiFi, but in my home network, which can be printed to, from Windows 11 and MacBook computers. My issue is to connect (Add) it to my iPhone in the printer list to select.

Cheers.

There is a good chance that the network card that shipped with the 5200 is too old to meet Apple's current security requirements.  As the network connection is built into the formatter, if a firmware update does not resolve the issue, then you will likely need to use an external usb>network adapter to get a product that has up to date security protocols that will work with newer Apple products.

First off, thanks for your reply.

I get your point on being an old printer.

However, this printer is connected to the home network, wired, where the wireless function takes place (router).

We can print from a MacBook and from a Windows 11 laptop to this 5200, but not from the iPhone (iOS).

Thanks

The Laserjet 5200 predates airprint by at least 4 years and therefore is unlikely to be compatible with Airprint. Have you installed the HP Print app on the phone?
