My LaserJet P1102 is directly next to my router. Historically, I’ve printed using wi-fi, but due to its proximity, wouldn’t it be more efficient if I could connect directly to the router either via Ethernet or USB cable? Is this even a feature of this printer? If so, do I have to change its settings?

@TomObara, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Please find below the table about printer connectivity options
As per the table, we see that the printer does not have an ethernet port, you may have to use the USB option to connect. Refer to the document USB Printer Setup (Mac) for help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
