HP LaserJet MFP M281fdw
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I'm having such a hard time connecting my mac to my LaserJet MFP M281fdw! I've done all of the steps to share a folder on my computer (enabled SMB, etc.), but everytime I do a "test" on my printer page it keeps telling me my test was unsuccessful.

Here are the paths that I've tried and none are working!

\\kateri.local\Users\Myusername\Desktop\HPFolder

\\kateri-macbook.attlocal.net\Users\Myusername\Desktop\HPFolder

\\192.168.1.79\Users\Myusername\Desktop\HPFolder

I'm aboslutely lost an have spent hours trying to figure this out!!!

Please help!

Hi,

Try using \\192.168.1.79\HPFolder as the path and check.

Also from System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing click on Options and ensure your user account is checked for SMB, then test again and check for any difference.
