Hi! @Karl-Erik, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you need to know how to retrieve the WPS password on your printer.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Please provide the product number of your printer and operating system you are running on your PC to assist you better.

Try the steps recommended below.

In Windows, search for view network connections, and select View network connections from the search results.

The Network Connections window opens.

2.Right-click the network name, then click Status.

The Wi-Fi Status or Wireless Network Connection Status window opens.

3.Click Wireless Properties.

4.Click the Security tab, then click the Show characters check box to see the wireless network password

If the Show characters check box is unavailable and cannot be clicked, go to the next step.

@Karl-Erik, Thanks for your quick response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned you still have problems finding the WPS pin.

Try the steps recommended below.

The WPS button would be on your router if your router supports WPS, press and hold the WPS button for a few seconds.  Alternately there may be a WPS PIN number on the label, perhaps on the bottom of the router.

Also, try the steps recommended below to connect the printer to the network.

Connect the printer to your network from the printer control panel with the Wireless Setup Wizard so the HP installer can find the printer during the installation.

1.From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.

2.Swipe up, and then touch Network Setup.

3.Touch Wireless Menu, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.

The wizard searches for and displays a list of available networks.

4.Touch the name of your network.

If the list does not contain your network name, enter it manually.

1.Touch Enter SSID.

2.Type the network name using the on-screen keyboard.

   note:

You must enter the exact uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.

3.When you finish entering the new network name, touch OK.

The printer attempts to connect to the network.

5.When prompted, enter the WEP or WPA passphrase.

1.Type the key or passphrase using the on-screen keyboard.

2.When you finish entering the WEP or WPA passphrase, touch OK.

The printer connects to the network.

Refer this article to know more information about wireless printer setup.
