Seemingly out of nowhere, my printer has been having communication/connectivity issues. All the usual troubleshooting tricks have failed to work the way they have in the past. I've tried restarting the printer, the router, my laptop, all with no luck. I made my laptop "forget" the printer, as that helped solve issues in the past, but no such luck this time around. I tried uninstalling all HP software and went through the set up steps as if I were setting up a new printer for the first time, but that didn't work either. When I try to access the IP address page for the printer, I receive an error message about it taking too long to reply, unable to connect. I've tried to get it to connect and print not only on my MacBook Pro, but my cell phone and our PC desktop computer as well, but the issue remains the same.

Strangely enough, throughout all of my troubleshooting, the screen of the printer as well as Network pages I print from it have claimed and continue to claim that the printer is connected to my WiFi and that there is a strong connection. As of now, the only way I can print/scan anything is if I use the WiFi Direct setting, which is better than nothing, but it's still impossible for me to print anything that's online, which is a major inconvenience.

If anyone has any insight or recommendations for what could be causing this issue and how to remedy it, I would greatly appreciate the help and advice.

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Do you have any antivirus software installed on your Mac?

Do you have 2.4 GHz and 5GHz networks enabled on your WiFi router?

Approximately how far is the printer located from the WiFi router?

Could you also check for any WiFi interference
