Laser Jet Pro MFP M227fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For the last few days our laserjet has been making a crinkling sound like its chewing on plastic when printing. Today it started messing up print jobs , and we opened it up to find this red powder which also comes out on pages. It is not a color printer. also we found bits and pieces of this shredded film, black on one side, brown on the other, not sure what that goes to. We thought it might be a problem with the new toner we installed last week, so we replaced it again but it made no difference. Any insight would be appreciated!

The red powder is parts of the lower pressure roller and the plastic is the Teflon film from the hot roller. You will need to replace the fusing assembly which is the part that bonds toner to the page.

Thanks for the help!

What would be the best next step? Should we contact HP and try replacing the part or would it be better to just replace the printer altogether?
