Suddenly I get dirty spots over the page. This is the result of the cleaning page. What can be wrong?

Thank you.

@soring,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are having issues with the print quality while printing from your HP LaserJet printer. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes before the issue started?

Have you cleaned the scanner glass fro dirt and smudges.

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to follow the steps to check the scanner glass for dirt and smudges as some Specks of debris can collect on the scanner glass and white plastic backing, which might affect performance or cause specks or dots on the printed pages.

Click here for Instructions(Please try all the steps as this will help in narrow down the issue).

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck.

I need to replace the toner. I hope that afterwards it would get better. If not, I'll get back.

However - the spots are when I print - not when I copy/scan, so I don't understand the issue  of dirty glass.

What you said "the spots are when I print - not when I copy/scan" that's almost impossible to be happened.

Copy is ok but print not. That's  impossible !

You need to check to make sure for that.

I did not say that I've copied and it's OK.

Since I got them when printing , then cleaning the glass doesn't seem really relevant (I did not copy).
