When I get an Adobe document (does not matter if I alter it or not) when I hit the "print" button, my Mac sends the doc, my printer hums like it is supposed to, then, just before printing, it stops and waits to print.  Mac & printer are connected (wifi) because I can see the ink levels.

I deleted the printer and re-installed it.  I updated Adobe.  I have the latest mac Book Pro OS.  I also have the latest HP update.

Today, after an hour of trying different things, I closed everthing out, then started doing something else.  The printer THEN spit out my document.  Ugh.

I have the HP Laser Jet Pro MFP277dw.  Any help would be appreciated!!

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Since the issue only occurs while printing PDF files, printing the PDF file as an image may resolve the issue. You may use the steps available in this document to print the PDF file as an image.

Let me know how it goes!

I tried that already but it did not work.  Also, I forgot to mention that after I closed everything, after trying to print for over an hour, the printer just spit out the document.  Another ommission.  I usuallyy do not have a problem printing anything in PDF format except this document (from an attorney).

It could be an issue with the printer driver installed on Mac. Removing the existing printer driver and the setting up the printer with Apple AirPrint may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.)
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to print and scan.

Keep me posted!
