HP P1005
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

Hi,

I need driver for HP LaserJet P1005 Printer for widows server 2008 x64.

The printer is connected through a print server. I tried to install drivers for others S.O. but that installing it stops

Are there any drivers for this printer for Windows Server 2,008 x64? Can I install a driver from another printer to make it work?

Thank you

@Gian666

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the HP P1005 driver is required for the Windows 2008R2,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you know that consumer HP Printers do not support commercial OS and hence I would recommend you to use the printer with the supported OS alone:

Click here to read about the specifications.

I'm afraid the driver for the Windows server 2008 isn't available.

I was afraid of this answer. However, I first used the P1005 printer with S.O. Windows 2003 which is a S.O. commercial.

Thank you

I also used the P1005 with S.O. Windows 2008 Standard Edition 32 bit. The problem is that I now want to install it on a 64 bit.

Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I'm not sure if this would work as I only support consumer products, you could make an attempt to install the printer using the windows built-in drivers: Click here for more information.

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Here's the other option you seem to have,

Using windows 7 drivers with compatibility mode to work on windows 2008 R2: Click here for details

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! 😉

Thank you for the reply.

The problem is that even launching the program in compatibility mode It is always required to connect the usb cable.

I want to install the printer on the Windows 2008 Print Server not via usb.

Thank you

Thank you for replying,

As I mentioned before I don't support commercial units and I've tried my best to help you sort this out, however, It looks like I'm at the end of the line and I would recommend you check the link I shared in my last post or perhaps check with a local tech for further assistance.
