@Raunit

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.

I understand that you have an HP LaserJet Pro M1136 Multifunction Printer and it does not successfully install on your Win7 computer. Thanks for sharing the image. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

NOTE: If you're going to connect the printer via USB, then do not connect it initially. Begin the installation first and later there will be a prompt to connect the printer. That's when you may connect the printer.

Are you installing the drivers using the disk that came with the printer or by downloading from the HP website?

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with the printer drivers.

If the issue persists then let us uninstall any existing printer drivers from the root level and reinstall them. The following steps will help:

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Please download and install the drivers via this link

I sincerely hope these steps help. However, if the issue persists then you could try to install the basic printer drivers via this link

If the drivers from the HP website do not get installed successfully then we can try to install the inbuilt printer drivers from the Windows operating system itself. To do this, you may perform the steps mentioned in "Step 3: Install the print driver with the Add a Printer wizard" from this HP document.

I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂

Thanks for replying.

The steps which you have suggested to install the driver is of no use.

I have been trying to install the driver since a month. Many times I have uninstalled the pre existing drivers and started to install the drivers with new hope that it will be installed but I lost my hope.

ALSO I HAVE INSTALLED HP print and scan doctor but the problem wasn't detected.

And the note which you have given had been tried by me. When the dialog box appear to connect the printer then only I use to connect but then the setup doesn't till an hour or two.

Suggest me others step to solve this problem or suggest me a video to know how to install the drivers.

THANKS

@Raunit

You're welcome and I truly appreciate your efforts and patience.

I understand that you have already run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and have installed the drivers.

Let me know if you tried installing the basic drivers and also the inbuilt drivers from the Windows operating system?

If the basic drivers did not work and also if the inbuilt printer drivers did not work then could be an issue with the Windows OS. You can try performing Windows updates.

Hope this information helps. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂
