LaserJet Pro MFP M227sdn

Does the LaserJet Pro MFP M227sdn support duplex scanning (using the ADF) in addition to both duplex printing? Can documents placed in the ADF be scanned on both sides automatically in one pass without having to manually rotate them?

Hi,

Your printer only allows two-sided printing, the duplexer does not support automatic two-sided scanning.

From your printer software click Scan a document or photo and press More >

Change the Scan Sides to two-sides and the software will prompt you to reload the other page into the document feeder.

Manually reloading is not practical for more than a few pages. Is there a recommended multifunction printer that supports automatic two-sided scanning and printing for home use?

Hi,

For Laser printers, only commercial printers support a such, I assume the M426fdn is the cheapest laser printer for a such:

For inkjet models, there are many consumer models such as the HP Officejet Pro 6970, 8020, 9010 / 9020  printers, but all are color printers.

Do any of the color models that support automatic two-sided scanning and printing also use ink cartridges with integrated print heads?

HP Recommended

Hi,

None of these models uses IPH cartridges but uses the IIC ink system which means the printhead is separate than the ink cartridges.

The HP Officejet Pro 6970 and 8020 uses an integrated printhead in the printer.

The HP Officejet Pro 8710/8720/9010/9020 uses a replaceable printhead.

While the 8710/8720/9010 uses a standard ADF duplexer, the 9020 printer uses a single-pass ADF scanner, which means that both sides of the original are scanned in a single feed job, which is faster.

Arn't all integrated print heads replaceable? How is a replaceable print head different from an IPH cartridge? I am asking about IPH cartridges, obviouslly because I don't want a print head to become clogged with dried ink.

HP Recommended

Only lower end HP printers offer IPH printheads, not such printers offer two-sided scanning.

The difference is that IIC printers with a replaceable printhead, the printhead is a replaceable part which can be replaced if needed.

Other models with an integrated printhead, the printhead is within the printer and can only be replaced by a repair center.

How can I find which printers use IPH print heads and which printers are IIC? I don't see such information listed in specifications.

HP Recommended

Printers with 2 ink cartridges (1 Black + 1 Tri-color) uses IPH cartridges.

Printers with 4 different ink cartridges (Black, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta) uses a separate printhead (IIC)

For any printer see the used ink cartridges within its specifications to find that out.
