HP laserjet P1102W
Linux

Hi,

I've had my HP 1102W for many years now.  I use the WIFI mode and had zero trouble.  Has worked fine, until early

this week, the wifi disconnected.  I had the WIFI enabled with a static IP.  The self test print out now shows 0.0.0.0  for my

IP.   So...  I began the process to get it going again by simply attempting to re-enable.  Using Windows 10, 7 , Linux RH even

I've tried to reconfigure the wireless over USB ( didn't work ).  I was able to update the FW updated to 20180301.  I've reset to factory defaults multiple times.  I finally almost gave up but then found where you might be able to connect to the EWS over direct connection ( which was disabled ).  I got my Win 10 machine to actually re-enable it, and I can now ping the 192.168.223.1 address, however when I point my browser to it, the connection just resets.

I can connect to the direct connect SSID on my tablets, phone, and my laptops.  The all end up with an "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET"  browser message.

The printer works fine over USB with HPLIP on Linux or any Windows machines I have.

It seems like the EWS is not listing on port 80.  Is there any way to re-flash the printer or get the EWS to reset or

connect.

Status update:  I've even been able to get the direct connection printing working on Linux CUPs.  Proves to me the wifi is actually working and not broken.  This seems localized to the EWS itself on the printer.  Port 9100 is working.

$ lpc status Direct_1102w
Direct_1102w:
printer is on device 'socket' speed -1
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
no entries
daemon present

Description: HP P1102W Location:

Driver: HP LaserJet Professional p1102w, hpcups 3.18.6, requires proprietary plugin (color, 2-sided printing)

Connection: socket://192.168.223.1:9100

Defaults: job-sheets=none, none media=na_letter_8.5x11in sides=one-sided

I was able to print out a test page from CUPs using this ,  Still the EWS is not responding over port 80.

One more thing.  The printer was working fine over WIFI.  It just "blipped" offline during printing and then all the rest of this started.  The EWS being offline may just be a symptom.   I connected my phone to the SSID and used Fing to scan the ports.

Only 515, 631, and 9100 are available.  Port 80 is offline.  Doesn't seem like there is anyway to get to the guts of the printer

to see what actually happened.  This feels like something internal.  The printer still works fine over USB and Direct Print from Windows, Linux and my Phone(s) and Tablet(s).  I really would like to get back WIFI, but can't get to the EWS.  The USB wifi config software does not work from Windows 10 ( I get up to the point of saying to configure it and the application vanishes from the screen).  On Windows 7, the USB detection never gets recognized and we can't get past that.  On Linux (using HPLIP toolbox ) the USB wifi config seems to go through and can actually configure the SSID, but the self test still shows manual/static 0.0.0.0 and a "None" for authentication method that should be WAP.  Any thoughts or help appreciated.  At this point looks like this printer is hobbled.
