There are a couple of ways.
1. Delete the queue and set up with AirPrint instead of Secure AirPrint (if you are using AirPrint)
2. Reset the Print System and setup the printer again with Secure AirPrint.

Thanks IronBadger, for your quick reply. Before posting this, I did try to change my print settings as some other posts had suggested, but I was not getting any read-out of an IP address for the printer, and I could not get to any screen where "AirPrint" could be modified. Since my printing needs were urgent, decided to go to HP support page (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice), looked up my printer and downloaded the HP Easy Start driver that was recommended using the self-serve process. I also downloaded the latest security update for my Mac and installed that too. Not sure if one or both together were the key, but this seems to have solved the problem. Again, thank you for reaching out to assist.

One possibility is that the printer's server certificate has expired. This issue is very similar to one that has been seen on some inkjet projects. The solution for that issue is in the document "'Encryption Credentials Expired' Error Displays".
