I'm not sure exactly what fixed the problem. I was running through these steps when my wife came and told me that the printer was working again. Anyway, I had already stopped the spooler service, so I went ahead and deleted all of the files in the spool\printers folder (with the spooler off). Then I restarted the spooler service. The printer is working now.
