Hi @Eazydoc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The "Er 75" error you are encountering on your HP printer after changing the toner cartridge could be an indication of a communication issue between the toner cartridge's chip and the printer. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Verify Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the toner cartridge is compatible with your printer model. Even if it's an original HP toner, mislabeling or packaging errors can occur.

Clean the Area: You've already cleaned the microchip and the reading head; ensure that no residue or dirt remains.

Check for Firmware Updates: Even though your firmware is up to date, double-check on Official HP® Support for any newly released updates or patches.

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, the printer’s memory needs to be reset. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then plug it back in and restart the device.

Inspect the Old Cartridge: Since returning to the old toner still generates the same error, ensure that the old cartridge’s chip is clean and undamaged.

Ensure Proper Installation: Double-check that the toner cartridge is installed correctly. It needs to be securely seated for proper function.

Try a Different Cartridge: If possible, try using a third different cartridge to see if the error persists. This can help determine if the issue is cartridge-specific.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
