Error: Load Tray 1 with Envelope, Letter (8.5x11) in Tray 1 -- Tray 2 has 8.x5x11

Hello,

For two months, this printer has been working great.

However, in recent days, I noticed it is no longer printing from Tray 2.

I print envelopes from Tray 1, and 8.5x11 paper from Tray 2. It has worked beautifully, automatically detecting which tray to print from.

A couple days ago, the printer just started trying to print everything from Tray 1. And when I remove the Envelopes, it prompts me to "Load Envelope, Letter (8.5x11) in Tray 1. Or, for 1-sided jobs, touch "OK" to use the available paper"

I have attempted to manually set the paper settings in Tray 2 to "Plain", "8.5x11", but it still prompts me.

When I press "OK", it does print from Tray 2, but I have to do this for each print job,

Really could use some help - this is so counterproductive.

If you print the configuration page, what size paper does it show as set for Tray 2. The symptoms sound like either the size or paper type have been changed from letter size and plain type to something else. Or the default on your print driver is wrong. On your computer go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer preferences" from the drop down menu and check your default settings.

Ah, it was set to Letter. I changed it to "Factory Defaults", which prevents the prompt when I only have tray 2 loaded. But if I add envelopes to Tray 1, the HP Printer still picks up the envelopes, even if the selected Paper Size is Letter.

So, what am I doing wrong? Why isn't it printing with the appropriate paper size?

You need to make sure that you set the paper size on tray 1 to envelope.
