This printer is hooked up through ethernet through our work network. Small office. Everytime we go to print a pdf, it prints out multiple error pages, multiple blank pages, and then part of the pdf we are trying to print. Error message everytime reads exacty: ERROR: syntaxerror OFFENDING COMAND: --nostringval-- STACK: /read_image_file false HELP! I found another thread where someone had this problem, but the only answer provided was that it was Postscript printing. Well, how or what do we change in Post Script? At the point where I think this HP is just going to be returned and a Brother Laserjet purchased instead.

make sure you have the proper driver installed. go to hp.com-->support-->drivers and input your machine info. Could also be a corrupt print job, is it the same pdf trying to be printed? can you print any other document like a word doc, email etc.?

It is the driver problem of HP and it happens all the time.
Try to find out it's a single file problem or every PDF file works the same.
If it just happened with a single pdf file it may has some thing wrong withing that pdf file. You can try to save this file with the same name or another name then close and reopen it again then reprint that file again to see if it helps.
If it still not work you can try to change to use another pdf app. for example if you aue using Adobe Acrobat Reader now then try PDF Creator you'll find out that it'll work most of the time.
Try another PDF app. often solves this kind of problem.

It sounds like the printer driver is just fine, but the PDF reader application you're using is corrupt, old, or incorrect for your computer operating system. Delete/remove/uninstall the PDF application you're using, download and install a current/new version of Adobe Reader and try it again, or install another PDF reader to try. I've seen this problem before for that reason.
