Hi @manoj538,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Samsung ML‑1020 Plus printer is showing “Error State” even after checking hardware and reinstalling drivers. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot this.

Check USB connection
Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
Try a different USB port or cable to rule out connection issues.

Restart printer and computer
Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
Restart your computer, then turn the printer back on.

Check printer status in Windows
Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what’s printing.
Ensure the printer is set as default and not paused.

Update or reinstall drivers
Even if you reinstalled, make sure you are using the official Samsung ML‑1020 Plus drivers compatible with your Windows version.
Uninstall the old drivers completely, restart, and then install the latest driver.

Clear print spooler
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Find Print Spooler, stop it, clear the spooler files from C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, then restart the service.

Check for firmware issues
Some Samsung printers may need a firmware update to work properly with newer Windows versions.
Check Samsung’s support site for firmware updates for ML‑1020 Plus.

Try on another computer
Connect the printer to a different computer to see if the “Error State” persists.
If it works elsewhere, the issue is likely with your original system’s configuration.

Check for Windows conflicts
Ensure Windows updates are installed, but also check if any recent update may have broken printer compatibility.
Roll back updates if the issue started after a recent Windows update.

I hope this helps.
