Color Laserjet Pro MFP M477fdw
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi - I have Color Laserjet Pro MFP M477fdw printer and I was trying to connect my desktop computer to it directly with a ethernet cable and still be able to connect to the printer with other laptops and desktops wirelessly to print.  Is this possible?  I'm 95% sure I  had the capability previoulsy but it will not reconnect to both at same time now.  Also, I recently moved and the printer has had a number of glithces attaching to a new network and IP address.

Thanks

thanks for reply sabre - wow, was pretty sure i had both before.  That said , can I have my desktop wired to internet and still print wirelessly?  that way can still get benefit of better/faster internet connection from wired for working but just print wirelessly from desktop and all other laptops?  thanks again

You may have had USB and Wireless or USB and Ethernet, that is allowed.   Yes you can connect your computer anyway you want to the Internet and print wirelessly.

No.  You can have Ethernet or Wireless but not both at the same time.  Why?  Only 1 IP addresses allowed per device.
