Using the web admin page, when I view the event log I see events 1 through 50.  I believe that is the limit, although not sure.

The last event is over two months ago, which is a bit unlikely.

When I go to the configuration page under the heading titled "Event Log" is see events 59,60 and 61.

Is it possible only the first 50 events are shown on the web interface and subsequent events are not?

If so, how could I get information on the events past the first 50?

Thanks in advance.

Hi embeedee,

Without being 100% sure on this, but I reckon that the event log stores the latest 50 entries. So must do the EWS event log which usually shows a little more details of the events. You can also print the event log under the Administration->Troubleshooting menu.

I hope this will help you,

Cheers!

Alex,

Thanks for the reply.  I was under the impression that it holds only 50 events and the event log, whether viewed or printed, seems to confim that.  The event log has events numbered as Event 1 through Event 50 as expected.  However, the last event is over two months ago - possible but unlikely.

And another screen, specifically the Configuration page, shows the last three events as Events 59 through 61 with event codes.

This all seems to suggest events after Event 50 are being logged somewhere but I cannot see where.  Also, I would expect that the log would overwrite the earliest event, not just drop the newest events over Event 50.

Does that make sense?

Thanks again;

Hi embeedee,

The event log holds the latest 50 entries and are numbered as such. It is not unlikely that the last entry is 2 months old, I have seen a lot older than this.

In the configuration page you can see the latest 3 entries (If I remember correctly) with numbers of the total events logged ever.

There is nothing else you can check apart from the event log via the printer and the event log via the EWS (which is the most detailed one).

Finaly, the latest event always overwrites the oldest of the 50 events.

I hope this would make it more clear to you,

Cheers!
