I can not print do to an expired root certificate NP15402CD on a laser jet printer. How can I get a new certificate?

It can feel really frustrating when a printer you've trusted suddenly halts your workflow because of an expired certificate. You're not alone; this is a common hiccup with HP LaserJet printers. But the good news? There's a simple fix that brings your printer right back up.
How to Renew the Certificate
1. Access Your Printer’s Web Interface
- Find your printer’s IP address (from the printer menu or HP Smart).
- On your computer, open a browser and go to:
- http://<Printer_IP>
- You might see a warning like “Connection Not Secure.” Choose to Proceed or Continue; it’s safe since it's your printer.
2. Generate a New Self‑Signed Certificate
- Visit Network or Networking → Certificates (sometimes under Security → Certificates).
- Click View to confirm the old certificate has expired.
- Go back and click Configure (or Create New).
- Choose Self‑Signed Certificate, set the validity for 3650 days (10 years), and click Apply.
- The printer may take a few minutes to apply the new certificate.
3. (Optional) Confirm Date & Time
- If your printer’s clock is incorrect, it may treat a valid certificate as expired.
- Navigate to Settings → General Settings → Date & Time and ensure they are accurate.
4. Restart and Reconnect
- Reboot the printer to load the new certificate.
- On your computer (especially Macs), delete and re-add the printer under your printers list. This ensures it recognizes the new certificate and resumes printing.
