The HP309 is at my other home and I won't have access to it until next year. The last time I used it for printing envelopes, there were ink smears on the edges of the envelopes. This is the only complaint I have outstanding with HP... the exploding ink cartridges seems to be a one time thing that occurred several months ago.

I just opened a brand new 902XL black cartridge to install it in my 3-month-old HP 6975 printer. Yes, I was careful to follow the opening instructions on the cartidge. As soon as I twisted the orange handle, the cartridge spewed black ink all over my office. The "Warranty Ends: Aug 2018" is stamped on the outer package, and it says the cartridge could have been made in any of 5 different countries. Will HP buy me a bottle of ammonia to clean up this crap?
