False Paper jam HP Laser jet M476dw

My printer is giving a false paper jam at the exit.... I researched on here and people suggested cleaning the pick up rollers - which I did - but the issue remains unresolved - it's not a question of the pick up - it is as the paper is exiting - after every sheet I get a paper jam error with a message to open the back and remove the paper - I open the back and close it (there is no paper to remove) and the next sheet prints.

There must be a faulty sensor or similar at the exit that is giving this false error message - can anyone suggest a fix?

Check the exit sensor in the output bin, the flaps that tip up when paper exits have a flag on one of them and I have seen cases where aggressive removal of paper from the output tray jams the flaps in the up position.
