M553DN LaserJet

We have a M553DN LaserJet printer that was moved from one facility to another but came up missing before it could be set up at new location. I have found one another M553DN at the new facility and I got the serial number off of it. I need to get the serial number from the missing printerfor verification. Is there a way to get the serial number through the software of someone's computer that has previously printed to the missing printer? If so, how do I do that? The missing printer is still set up on the network in the old location but not physically there.

Printers serial number can be reached easily if you print the printers Configuration page.

Depending on printers firmware you can print configuration page:

Menu -> Reports -> Configuration page

The serial number will be in the top left part on first printed page.

Also, a serial number can be found on printers EWS if a printer is on a network you can use a computer on the same network open web browser and instead of the home page enter printers IP address.

The printer is physically missing so that is why this is difficult. I need to see if there is a history file with the serial number, maybe the information is on a file of someone that previously printed to this printer at its original location.

If we can get the serial number, we can check the other printers of the same model and see if we can match the serial number and catch the person responsible.

Only if sometimes while the printer was in use someone printed configuration page and kept it safe or scanned.
