Hi  @MagicChevy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern the error that your facing while scanning, don’t worry let me help you with this.

Could you please confirm the exact HP printer or scanner model you’re using?

In the meantime, here are a few  steps you can try:

1. Restart the device and computer: Power off your HP printer/scanner and your PC, wait about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

2. Check connections: If you’re scanning over Wi‑Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer. If it’s USB, try unplugging and reconnecting the cable.

3. Run HP App: This tool from HP automatically detects and fixes common scanning issues.

4. Update drivers/software: Go to HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/  and download the latest drivers and firmware for your model.

5. Confirm scanning method: Are you scanning from the HP app, Windows Fax and Scan, or directly from the printer’s control panel? Knowing this will help pinpoint the issue.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
