hp laserjet pro mfp m127fn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.

I forgot the password to my hp laserjet pro mfp m127fn. I cannot do a system reset through the printer as it asks for a password. I've tried my common passwords and reading guides on how to reset it like turn the printer off, hold the right arrow button while turning it on, hold down the right arrow till the printer turns on and there should be some options but that didn't work.

How can I reset the printer's password when I cannot access the system settings?

Thanks,

Kevin

@kehfun,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you need information and assistance related to your HP Laserjet printer. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?

Have you tried to restore the printer to network defaults? Doing this will restore the printer to the default settings.

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Let's restore the printer to factory - set defaults:

LCD control panel:

1. From the product control panel, press the Setup button.

2. Open the Service menu.

3. Select the Restore Defaults option, and then touch the OK button.

The product automatically restarts.

Touchscreen control panel:

1. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Setup button.

2. Touch the Service menu.

3. Select the Restore Defaults option, and then touch the OK button.

The product automatically restarts.

If the issue persists, then the next option would be to perform an advanced reset on the printer. For which we are going to utilize the steps in a private message. As these instructions are specific to your printer model.
