HP Laserjet 600 M601

Hi,

My printer had the message code to replace the fuser.  I purchased a new OEM fuser and installed it.  I keep getting the error message to install the fuser unit.  It's already installed.  I taken it out and turned the printer on and off multiple times.  It will occasionaly print after turning the computer on & off several times.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.

After replacing the part you need to reset the counters.

NOTE: After an HP supply has reached the very low threshold, the HP premium protection warranty for that supply has ended. Recommended action Replace the fuser. NOTE: After replacing the fuser, reset the fuser page counter by selecting New Fuser Kit in the Reset Supplies sub-menu.

I will look out for the post and   try and solve this for you.

Are you getting the error message on computer screen or on printer front panel?

It is strange that the printer with defective fuser will print after a computer has been turned off then on.

I did reset the fuser.  It still doesn't work.  I just replaced the fuser - not the maintenance kit.  Would that make a difference?  Thank in advance for your help.

message is on the printer.  It says "Install Fuser".

On some machine the fuser is part of the maintenance kit,but it should have reseted the fuser only if that part was replaced.

If it doesn't matter to much to you then maybe make a note on the current reading of the printer and reset the Maintenance Kit.

The only thing is that the maintenance kit normally has a bit more parts that are replaced.Hope this will help.

It's possible that you have a defective fuser.  Two questions:

1.  What happens when you re-install the old fuser?

2.  What part number did you purchase?

When I put the old fuser in it says I need to replace the fuser.  I put the new fuser in and it just printed 31 envelopes and stopped.  The message on the printer says "Install Fuser".  Arghhh.  I have 400 envelopes to print.  I'm going to be here a while!

Any other suggestions to try?

Thank you so much.

Remove the old fuser unit and install the new fuser unit.Reset the page counter and then try.Sometimes the reset works when you redo the installation.NOTE: After replacing the fuser, reset the fuser page counter by selecting New Fuser Kit in the
Reset Supplies sub-menu.
Hope this will help.
