Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP laserjet 1018, yes I know it's old but worked fine till the yesterday. Windows 10 updated over the weekend and noticed yesterday that I couldn't print to it. When I look in the setting, deives, printer and scanners it is no longer listed. When I try and add it it just keeps searching. I've changed cables and usb ports. I've tried HP's print and scan Dr which finds it but says not installed, When I try to install it proceeds to loop to the same web pages over and over looking for drivers but  never finds them. When I search for them on my own there are none listed. Is it no longer support ?? I tried using the Windows Built-in Print Driver but doesn't work. I really don't want to buy a new printer. Any Ideas???

@JR3326,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

After reviewing your post, I did go through the software and driver download page and found that there are no full feature software and driver available for Windows 10.

In this scenario, I would suggest here is to Install the printer using Windows built in drivers.

Let's start off by running Windows update troubleshooter:

Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.

Now try to perform Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

I would suggest here is to Uninstall the printer drivers and then try installing the Windows built-in drivers for the printer.

Simply turn on the printer and connect the USB cable from the printer to the PC. The drivers will be installed in 2-3 minutes. Go to Control panel - Devices and printers to check the printer entry and make it as default printer if needed.

Check here for additional instructions - HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for your help. The very last step fixed it. I don't know why it removed it in the first place
