Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP 1100 laserJet printer that has been outstanding in the past. It's been hooked up to my old desktop PC running winXP...But I've purchased a new laptop that is running win7 64x. The problem I have is that my printer has the old-style parallel, 25-pin d-type connector, and my laptop only has USB interfaces. I use a 'converter' from my printer to accept a USB interface, which is USB to Parallel IEEE 1284 Printer Adapter Cable - But it does not work with my HP 1100 laserjet printer?

Does your printer have the standard parallel connector or the micro connector?   Based on the age of the printer you may have difficulty in getting a driver that will work and be recognized by Windows  7. These were a great printer but as they are eol and have been for a while, it can be a challenge getting them to work with newer OS.

There's HP 1100's driver built in Win7 x64 for sure.

What I'm using HP 5L by now with both HP 5L & 1100's driver and both of them work fine.

You need to check in the printer property to make sure the connected port is USB001 or ..002 but not the LPT1.

Here are what in my printer list. (Chinese Edition Win7 x64)

Yes, the driver hp1100 (MS) is working properly, the printer was manifactured in the year 1999, > I think that the peoblem is related to the converter as the printer begin printing either test page or any bage after delay time of more then half an hour!!

Sure,, but I think that the problem is related to the converter as there is delay time of more than half an hour!! The converter is Wan Teng UE-PA15PC,, is there some adjustment in settings to configure the converter??

What my experience is that Z-TEK is far more reliable than Wan Teng.

I have many bad Wan Teng's USB-LPT  converter lines left by me which they were going bad easily without any signs.
