Hp 5225

I have a HP5225 that keeps dropping off the network.  The printer initially comes on line after power on and will print the first job sent to it,  however after a minute or so it drops off the network and shows as unavailable in 'Devices & Printers'.  If the network cable in unplugged & re-plugged in, the printer comes back online and any queued jobs will print.

If the printer is left in an offline state, after about 30 minutes it comes back online for another minute and then goes offline again.

The printer has been reset to factory defaults, removed & re-added on the system, and firmware is up to the latest version,  I have also tried substituting the formatted board.  The problem still remains.

Has anyone seen the same issue or has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Need more information. Do the network lights show activity even when it is unavailable? Are you able to ping the product when it is showing as unavailable. What operating system are you using. A few more details may help me to provide you with an answer.

Looks like the problem is with the site WAN.

The network lights were working when the printer was unavailable, but not able to ping when unavailable.

Printer didn't drop offline when using the LAN or connected directly to the PC with a cross over cable, the problem only happened when trying to print over the WAN.
