HP Color LaserJet 5550dn

I have an HP LaserJet 5550

Problem: Always showing Tray 2 empty and not lifting paper. Tray 1 is inoperative as well. We tried changing Paper Pickup Assembly, tray 2 assembly, and still running into the same problem with Tray 2 empty. No action coming from Tray 2 or Tray 1 as far from picking up paper. What else could be causing this problem?

Thank you for the tip of where to check, David! That'll be the next thing, we'll be checking on the printer's DC Control board.

Maybe the dc controller. When you insert the tray you should hear and see the lever raising. If no noise it means the lifter is not workiing, but I think that is part of the paper pickup assembly which you replaced.

Thanks davidzuts for the information. We have changed out the DC Controller board and the printer started to function. However, we have another issue with a couple of parts that we identified in the book, but has no part name or part number. We have no idea of its function and what triggers it, but when we trigger it manually, the printer seems to work. We'll be attaching photos.Capture.PNG

Need to identify these parts, its function, and what triggers it. Thank you
