HP 7510
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer screen is stuck on an error message and I want to return to the Home screen. I've been addressing an error "printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed." I did recommended steps 1-4. Now I want to update printer Firmware but can't get back to Settings. Can someone provide some help please?

Hey there! @Irisheyes777, Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'm glad to assist you today.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

I appreciate your efforts for trying out few steps before reaching out to us.

Please try the steps recommended below.

Resetting the printer can reset the connection with the printhead and clear any error messages.

1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

   note:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps, it is a hardware issue with the printer.
