HP Color Laser Jet CP1215 - I have just replaced a printer cartridge and since installing the color printing has a shadow. SOme help refers to the Toolbox which I can't find on my computer. I have found no help in the forums or the virtual assistant. Having just spent $300 AUD on cartridges I would like to be able to use my printer. Help would be appreciated.

Hope you didn't throw away the old cartridges if you didn't you can put them back once a color at a time and print to see if it helps.
They often acting like that as yours it's no big deal they just argue with each other.
Try the color first which is off mostly
If you resolve the problem don't throw away the new ones which you replaced, just keep them maybe one day you put them back and they will happy with each other again. It just happens.
Maybe you will need to cold reset and NVRAM CP1215.
Go HP and download the full edition driver then install it.
Hope it helps.
Cold reset
The traditional cold reset function found in other HP LaserJet products is not supported for this product.
The equivalent function is the Restore defaults option in the HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Toolbox
(HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Printer) or the Service menu (HP Color LaserJet CP1510 Series
Printer).
Restoring the default settings unlocks menus that have been previously locked and resets all controlpanel
menu items to the factory defaults. It does not reset the serial number and the page counts.
NOTE: Before restoring defaults, print a menu structure report and a configuration page. Use the
information on these pages to reset customer-specific settings.
CAUTION: All HP Jetdirect settings are also reset. Be sure to print a configuration page before
restoring defaults. Make note of the IP address that is listed on the Jetdirect configuration page. You
might need to restore the IP address after performing a cold reset.
NVRAM initialization
CAUTION: All HP Jetdirect settings are also reset. Be sure to print a configuration page before
performing an NVRAM initialization. Make note of the IP address that is listed on the Jetdirect
configuration page. You need to restore the IP address after performing an NVRAM initialization.
Performing an NVRAM initialization resets the following settings and information:
● All menu settings are reset to factory default values.
● All localization settings, including language and country/region, are reset.
After performing an NVRAM initialization, reconfigure any computers that print to this product so that
the computers can recognize the product.
Perform an NVRAM initialization on the HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series printer
1. Turn the product off.
2. Press and hold the Resume button.
3. Turn the product on, and continue holding the Resume button for at least 10 seconds, but not longer
than 20 seconds. The Attention light will be lit.
4. Release the Resume button.
NOTE: If the Attention and either the Paper out light or the Ready light are lit, restart the
procedure.
The Attention, Ready, and Resume lights cycle from front to back until the process is complete.
The product then enters the Ready state.

Thank you for giving me some suggestions.
I can't put the old cartridge back in because it has no ink so just brings up that error message. I have tried taking other color cartridges in and out but it didn't fix the problem.
I would like to try to 'restore defaults' but the toolbox doesn't exist for the Windows 10 and I can't find how to do it otherwise.
I have been able to print a test page but am not sure if this is the same as a 'menu structure report' or 'configuration page' and
I can't see any IP address information on the page that printed so I don't want to go any further.
Can you provide further info ... sorry for being so dense about this stuff.

HP CP1215 doesn't have networt function so there's no IP address for it but CP1518ni does.
Restore Default is in the toolbox and i just find out there's not in Windows 10.
Your only choice is to run NVRAM.
Try NVRAM Init and then few calibrations.
Speak about your empty toner cartridges maybe you can try three new ones and one old one to see if it helps.
If it does use them in this way for some time then exchange another new one inside maybe they can be happy with each other since then.
You will need those empty toner cartridges to make things right at this moment don't throw them away so quickly and hope you didn't have done that.
