Authentic HP Toners were purchased. They state they are for North America. Attempted all fixes I can find to include: Control Panel Region Reset, Unplug the Printer from unit & wall, etc. North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Japan: HP 206X cartridges Cyan: W2111X and Yellow: W2112X  I inserted the cartridge fully. Ensured color chip on the cartridge matches the color chip on the drawer. Closed the drawer and front door. Error still appears.  Performed a control-panel Region Rest.  Cleared Permanent Storage after removing cartridges. Verified the chips were not damaged or dirty.  Not sure how to verify if they might be counterfeit.  Removed all cartridges, unplug printer while on, wait, plug back in & turn on, reinstalled cartridges one at a time.  Incompatible message Replaced old empty cartridges and incompatible message goes away.

Hi @EZAlaska,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I will be more than happy to help you out here.

To perform a printer region reset, you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it.

4. Make sure the HP Smart App is installed too.

Do keep me posted.

I have also verified they are authentic cartridges by scanning the HP sticker on the box.

Nothing has changed with this printer.  Meaning I still live where the printer was purchased and the cartridges are authentic.  Why would I need to perform the new region/country reset?  Isn't there another way to "reset" the Incompatible Message beside all the previous step I have indicated previously?

Is your firmware up to date on your printer? In some cases this will cause a problem when new cartridges are installed in an older printer and the printer does not contain data that will enable newer toners to work.
