HP Color laserJet Enterprise

HP LaserJet enterprise M552 does not print color even on the demo page, I have cold reset the printer, upgraded firmware, formatted the printer still prints black and white only

Hi @MTshukudu,

 

Firstly, try doing a partial clean through the pre-boot menu. Then print a demo and a supplies page without connecting the printer to either the ethernet or the USB.

Secondly, when the printer is in ready state, do an engine test by putting something that fits in the little hole at rear panel of the printer and next to the formatter and hold it there for several seconds. Thus, you will get an engine test page. It must be consisted from 4 parallel lines all of different colours (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) accross the page.

 

Do that and tell us back with a feedback.

I have tried press the switch on the dc board and it only prints black parallel lines, i have replaced dc board and formatter board, can you assist me with the service code for this printer

So your test engine page is still missing the coloured lines. This means that your formatter is good. I don't think you should change the DC controller. What I suggest is that you should replace the HVPS  (high voltage power supply).

If you are only getting black and white output, even from the Demo page, I would look at the ITB. It sounds like it is not alienating, meaning that the transfer rollers are not moving down to engage the color toner. Do you have many 54.xx.xx event codes in the event log? This means that the printer is failing calibrations and can be caused by low toner, dirty registration sensor or the ITB failing to alienate.

Does your printer prints black?

Did you try to do 3 full colour calibrations in a row?

Are you using HP genuine toner cartridges?

What are the percentage levels of them?
