My printer is well ventilated but it is taking hours to print multi-page documents. I have seen other questions like this but they all say that the fix was sent in a private message.  Could someone help out?

Thank you for joining HP Forums.}

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw has issues with slow printing,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help you, although, to provide an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern:

Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet, or into a surge protector/ power bar?

Did you attempt to upgrade the firmware?

While you answer my query, here's what you need to know:

  • Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a powered hub or a surge protector)
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
  • Update the printer's firmware: Click here to look for it

Let me know is the issue persists.
So that we can get to the last resort of resetting your printer,
considering it would wipe out of your personal settings,

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts,

It is plugged in to an outlet and firmware is current.

I had the same issue, spent HOURS with HP Support...try this, try that, etc.,  None of it worked.  Finally out of desperation I completely uninstalled the printer, downloaded all new files for it from HP, reinstalled it AND IT NOW WORKS!

Our family has multiple printers that use this printer...we installed the printer using the cd that came with it.  BIG MISTAKE - next time we'll get the files directly from HP's website.  We are working on getting the other printers fixed now...deleting and reinstalling has worked on the first 2...2 more to go!

I'm glad the printer works now...just wish HP's support was more helpful.  They kept insisting that the printer was overheating despite the fact that I told them it was happening on the first page out after 24 hour of sitting on an empty desk.

Ok, first, sorry it took a while...

The printer was moved to a separate outlet and everything worked fine until today.  It is once again going into the cool down mode.

I am going to try the RAM Initialization now, but I don't have high expectations.
