HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi there,

 

Just bought a "Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw" and want to install the drivers/software for macOS 10.13. Downloaded "Easy Start' but unfortunatly there's nothing easy about it. The download speed is very slow and just quits after minute or 10.

See the added pic for the download progress after 10 minutes :Sleep:

 The HP website seems just very slow since downloading "Easy Start" was a 15 minute ordeal. My internet connection is fine, please advise...Would  it be possible to send me direct links for "Essential software" & "HP Easy Scan"?

Hi,

Please run HP Easy Start again, on its first screen click the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software, from that screen follow the steps to uninstall any existing HP software and then follow the steps on screen to try installing the printer again.

 

If the same persists also try following below document and check for any difference:

This didn't solve the issue unfortunately, the problem isn't that the printer can't connect to a network. The printer is connected to my network and prints from the network fine without HP software installed. But of course I'd like to install HP's own software and Easy Scan, but it just very slow downloading from HP's server using Easy Start and eventually it just stops and tells to check my network with just 174kb downloaded. So it don't even get to installing software on either my computer or the printer itself.

 

Please advise...
