HP LaserJet 4250
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have two of the same HP LaserJet 4250 Q5400A printers that decided to stop working. I keep getting the "driver is unavailable" error whenever I try to plug it in via USB. They are not network printers. I have gone to the hp website and downloaded all the correct files for the printer after uninstalling the printer and old drivers, but to no avail. They are both connected to desktops. Any information would be useful at this point.

Use the HP Universal printer driver, there is an install for the usb component that you must install on some revisions of Windows.

You may need to change the OS type on this link to find the software for your system.

I downloaded all of the drivers listed before for the correct OS and when I directed to that folder, it still didn't find it. We were able to get one printer working by uninstalling the current update (even though the computer wasn't recently updated and had been working fine with the printer before Friday) and it worked, but the other one still isn't working.
