HP LaserJet P2055dn - duplex printing issue

Hi,

Aproximately two weeks ago started problems with duplex printing on our printer HP LJ P2055dn. We are 100% sure that we checked option for duplex printing but printer not reacting at it and just print document normaly, without duplex print. This is happening for about 50% printed documents. 

Printer is connected via LAN cable.

Drivers used: HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.9.0) 

Is there any known similar isue with this model? Could you please help me? 🙂

Best try is reinstall drivers, right?

If it is working 50% of the time then the driver is fine and it appears either the option is not being checked in the preferences of the driver or someone is trying using the option in one of the programs and that program is not talking to the print driver.  Try something different, go to devices and printers and right click on the printer icon and scroll down to preferences and left click.  Now choose the duplex method you use most and check and save and close.  Now when you go to print in duplex it should work without having to do anything else.  If you do not want duplex go to preferences and choose no duplex.  You should not have to choose from within any program to duplex as the driver will do it automatically.

Thanks for reply and advice. So you mean to setup duplex print as default output? Its more comfortable for us to have 1-side printing as default, so that is not solution for this situation :/. 

Problem occurs in printing from Word 2010. What about some problem in recent update for MS Office?

I only do hardware so I have no answer if word has an issue.  Another option is to load another copy of the driver, but call this one 2055duplex and set the properties of duplex as default.  This way when one of your users wants to duplex all they have to do is change the printer to the 2055duplex and it should work.  Keep the default as the simplex driver.
