Hi folks, My printer had some problems or maybe it was bacause old cartrides.

It didn't print until you reinsert paper, and was woring not as expected so I updated Firmware, downloaded it using HP privers site and let it run, at last I got YELLOW SMILE and after that my printer is bricked, Attention lights and ready lights are on (HP support site says: fatal error has occured if ready and attention lights are on).

If you connect to computer, the windwos device manager it apperas as unusual name, somethink like: "hp dex-nm" I do not remember exact name. Windows doesn't finds the priter by real name. Can not install or copy.

It is bricked. Is it because firmware update? but I got smile face not error.

what can be done?

those firmware updates are a little tricky.  the program might show as completed but that might not be the case w/ the actual printer.  if the firmware was interrupted while it was still isntalling on the printer end, the formatter board gets toasted.  usually when doing a firmware update, you have to go by the display panel on the printer itself to see if it completed.  it should show as updating, then go to a ready status when done.  you can try resending the firmware, but no promise that it'll recover.
