I have tried using the software and driver download page at HP but when i use the full install program it gets to the "detect product" part of the install it gets to 100% and then says it failed because it took to long.

 

 

So would anyone be able to point me towards the proper drivers needed for my printer please

i was able to forgo the usb connection and went right to the network connect thanks for the assistance though

Hello @StVitalVac

 

I think that you have a USB connection 

 

Following that line you can go to the service menu on the printer and the USB  speed option and change the speed from high to full 

 

Now you want to make sure that the USB cable is less than 6 ft and direct connection PC and printer (no USB hubs)

 

Go to devices and printer make sure you dont see the printer there (if found right click and remove and restart PC)

 

Simply connect the USB cable and let the USB plug n play work and install the printer

Hi there,

 

I am trying to install my HP laserjet 400 printer using the printer software and wizard and at around 99-100% it fail also. I am trying to connect with USB, but USB port is not showing in my printer properties. 

 

You mention you by past the USB and went with network connect.  My company have high security in our network, can you tell me how you connected with network connect?
