I have the LaserJet Pro M12w installed as a wireless network printer on Windows 10. Whenever I print, even a test page, I get an immediate error message notification (simply stating the page could not be printed) on the bottom right of the screen even though the print job is completely successful. While I'm happy the print job works, having this error message with its accompanying tone go off every time I print is very annoying and leads me to believe something is wrong with my printer setup. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling the printer. The Print and Scan Doctor application also runs successfully and shows no issues with the printer.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand the HP LaserJet Pro M12w presents an Error Message though the printing is successful,
No worries as I'd love to help, however, I need a few more details to provide an accurate solution:
Did you attempt to update or reinstall the drivers?
Which application causes this error message or is it with all the applications?
In the meantime, please try the below steps:
- Open the Print Server Properties dialog window by doing one of the following:
- Click the Start menu and in the search field type 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click it in the search list.
- Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click OK.
- Press the WINDOWS key on the keyboard to display the Start screen, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then click it in the search list.
- From the Start menu or the Start screen:
- Open Devices and Printers.
- Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window.
- Click on the Drivers tab.
- For Windows XP systems:
- Click Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
- Click the File menu and choose "Server Properties."
- Click on the Drivers tab.
- Select the printer driver you wish to uninstall.
- Click the Remove button.
- Select "Remove driver and driver package" and click OK.
Restart the computer and it shall automatically reinstall the drivers and fix the issue we have with the error messages,

Let me know how that pans out,
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Thanks for your help.
I had to make some changes to the steps you listed to get it to work though. Originally, when I tried to delete the driver from the Print Server Driver dialog, I got the message tha it couldn't be deleted because it was in use. I deleted the printer and tried again. This time I got a message that I didn't have access to a file (I assume it was in the driver package) and so it couldn't be deleted. I rebooted the computer. As far as I could tell, nothing was installing automatically, so I went to the Devices and Printers control panel screen and manually added a printer. The M12w showed up on my network, and I added it. After that, I am able to print with no further spurious error messages.
