error 11 on my brand new printer

Try the printer without toner to see will E11 be present or not.

Remove toner and check did you remove all packaging material, you might have an orange protecting part that needs to be removed around toner chip.

The toner worked for about 5 copies than three days later gives me the error.

Only solution was a new $50 toner cartridge - 😞
