HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw Monochrome Laser - Multifunction printer (4PA41A)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

New HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw Monochrome Laser - Multifunction printer (4PA41A). Bought NEW from bestbuy through google express. Printed total less than 50 pages. Then there were one line of dots on each side of the page: Repeating defects/dots that always appear at exactly 2.605 cm (1.025 inch). Please refer the attached photo.

I used printer's self clean function (service, clean) but it's unhelpful. I googled online last night and found this webpage

https://www.printertechs.com/printer-troubleshooting/repetitive-defects-rulers

But I could not find the "Repetitive Defects Ruler" or "Repetitive Defect Table" of this particular HP M148dw laser printer (4PA41A). So I called HP and the laserjet department technician lady instructed me to check toner cartridge then Imaging Drum but I could not find any unclean stuff or debris or dust. The problem remains.

My question is: Given the above symptom, which part of the printer has defect? Where I can find the "Repetitive Defects Ruler" or "Repetitive Defect Table" of this particular HP M148dw laser printer (4PA41A)?

Thanks in advance.

It's the toner very likely, what is exact page count? Print more empty pages 30 and more the dot might go away

Thank you for your help, Valsimot.

The toner is the original one coming with the printer. I already printed more than 40 pages after noticing the dots. At least 5+ of them were empty pages and another 5+ were service/clean processing. Nothing changed. I have no extra toner so cannot verify if the toner is defective.

I just printed 30 empty papers and the dots did NOT go away or fade.

2.605 cm (1.025 inch) / pi = 0.829 cm (0.326 inch)

So actually my question can be simplified as: Which component of the printer has diameter of 0.829 cm (0.326 inch) ?

Again, I hope someone can help me to get the "Repetitive Defects Ruler" or "Repetitive Defect Table" of this particular HP M148dw laser printer (4PA41A)?

Fortunately the printer is still in return window so my last resort is to return the printer to the vendor (bestbuy through google express) if I cannot solve this problem. My zip is 11220-3721. Is there any nearby (within two miles) HP repair center or HP associated repair shop where I can check the toner for free?

Thanks in advance.
