HP LaserJet Series II Restoration

I am having issues with my HP LaserJet Series II. Until a few weeks ago, the printer was working perfectly. Physically, it is in good condition with no missing parts or damage. It has only printed 23K pages since 1987 and has never failed until now.

The issue is that the fuser lamp is wearing out and displays "50 Service" when turned on after being unused for several hours. Another issue is that the pickup roller has dried up and will not feed more than one sheet without jamming.

I have asked HP directly to make a brand-new LaserJet II for me; however, they told me this is not an available option. This is not the answer I shall accept from them. I have also written a letter to the board of directors at HP headquarters califonia requesting to either restore or make another LaserJet II. If needed, I will arrange a meeting with the appropriate directors at HP to make one.

I would like to know where to get parts for this printer, as HP has told me it cannot be repaired because of its age.

I am honestly not sure if this is a sincere post or a prank. This device is so far past end of service life that it is unlikely that anyone has enough spare parts to fix one, much less produce a new one. A quick check on ebay does not even show a used lamp assembly for sale.

If you are sincere about restoring the product you will likely need to search around and find an old school tech who might have some parts sitting around or possibly some Chinese manufacturer but honestly it is pretty unlikely you will find much still available. The print speed alone makes these older devices undesirable.

Good luck in your search, but I fear you will likely have to purchase a different printer at some point in time.

I can assure you this is not "prank" in any way. I genuinely am looking to completely restore or manufacture a new LaserJet II. Even if it means going to the CEO of HP.

link provided with absolutely no guarantees. I do not know the vendor, have never dealt with them and they clearly state that they are not the ones doing the refurbishing.
