Levono Flex 4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP LaserJet 1018 printer connected to Windows 10 laptop. When printing, no error messages on computer or printer, but printer does not print. Status for the printer goes from "ready" to "print" to "idle" to "ready".

Have already tried restarting computer, resetting printer, HP trouble shooting software.

No driver updates are available on HP website.

No driver updates are available through Windows Printer updates.

Perhaps this is a driver issue, and require new drivers to be compatible with updated Windows 10?

Manually add printer without letting Win10 do it itself by selecting "Old printer not on the list ?" -> add a local printer or ....(bottom one) -> USB001 002 003..... -> click "Windows Update" under the right side of the list -> waiting it finishing -> find again on HP list.

If there's no driiver on the list but there's HP 1020/1022 use it and it should be fine.

Try to uninstall and reinstall driver see if it helps.

I have tried to install a driver on a different laptop (but same brand and model - Lenovo Flex 4), which was previously not connected to this printer, but there is no driver for this printer. So laptop #2 doesn't even connect.

So I'm afraid to uninstall the driver, and not have any driver install. It will be helpful if a driver is provided for this printer on the HP website, but there isn't any...nor are there any drivers in the Windows Printer settings.

It worked, thank you!

So I had to uninstall the old driver. Manually locate and install the driver from Windows 10. The driver for 1018 as an install option once I uninstalled it.

I also had to reset the printer, by unplugging the power. It worked afterwards.

Thank you again!
