Hi @SeveBex,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Certainly! You can reconnect your HP LaserJet M15w printer with ease. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you do that:

Step 1: Power On Your Printer

Ensure your HP LaserJet M15w printer is powered on. Check that it is connected to the power source and the power button is pressed.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi

Follow these steps to connect your printer to a wireless network:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Wireless light blinks.
  2. Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on your device to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Step 3: Add the Printer to Your System

  1. Windows:
  2. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  3. Click on Add a printer.
  4. Wait for your system to detect the HP LaserJet M15w printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary drivers if prompted.
  5. macOS:
  6. Click on the Apple icon > System Preferences.
  7. Click on Printers & Scanners.
  8. Click the + button to add your printer.
  9. Select the HP LaserJet M15w from the list and click Add.

Step 4: Install HP Smart App

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or the app store on your device.
  • Open the app and follow the instructions to complete the setup, ensuring your printer is connected and recognized.

Step 5: Print a Test Page

Once added, try printing a test page to ensure everything is working properly.

If you encounter any issues, consider using the document for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Thanks Nal. I have tried unsuccessfully to follow your recommendations. Just cannot connect to wifi. I understand this model is susceptible to wifi issues!  Have had use of the printer for 4 years but I think it has expired!  Thank for your suggestions. I have given up trying to get it working

Regards

Hello @SeveBex

Elohi_NR is away for now; however, I'm Hawks_Eye, and I'll be happy to help you out!

Thank you for sharing everything so clearly—and I’m truly sorry the HP LaserJet M15w has refused to reconnect despite your efforts. I appreciate the time you’ve spent and your persistence.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery path to help bring it back online.

Step-by-step recovery for reconnecting HP LaserJet M15w to Wi-Fi

1. Restore network defaults on the printer

  • Turn on the printer
  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds
  • Wait for the Wireless light to start blinking—this means the printer is ready for setup

2. Reconnect using the HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Windows or macOS device
  • Select Add Printer > Set up a new printer
  • Follow the on-screen steps to connect to your Wi-Fi network
  • Make sure your computer is on the same Wi-Fi network

3. Use USB setup if Wi-Fi fails

  • Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable
  • Open the HP App and select Add Printer > USB Setup
  • Once connected, go to Settings > Wireless Setup within the app
  • Enter your Wi-Fi credentials and transfer them to the printer
  • Disconnect the USB cable after setup completes

4. Reinstall the driver manually (if needed)

5. Confirm router compatibility and frequency

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz only)
  • The M15w does not support 5 GHz networks
  • If needed, enable 2.4 GHz in your router settings or create a guest network

Let me know how the printer responds after these steps. If it still refuses to connect, we can explore alternate setup paths or deeper resets.

You’ve done everything right by staying persistent—I’ll be here to guide you further.
