MFP M570
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had this M570 for about 4 years, and it has had networking issues as long as I can remember having it. Recently it has been becoming worse. I have upgraded to firmware to its latest, and am not sure where to go next. This is a wired printer, it is used for Scanning to email, and printing. Nothing fancy, just needs to be reliable. When printing it works great for color and quality, but when it drops network its useless.

Is it possible there is a network card that can be replaced? Can this be serviced? Should I be looking for a replacement?

Network Card is integrated into the formatter so it would require formatter replacement. Things to try: set the link speed to a fixed speed instead of auto negotiate. Also make sure there is not a duplicate IP address.

Do you power the printer or router/switch OFF often? If the printer network option is set to DHCP, anytime you turn the printer or router OFF, when you power them back ON, the printer will often acquire a new network IP address from the router, which will not match what your computer is set for.

Best thing to do is set the printer to a static IP address (instead of DHCP), the one that your computer has set in it's printer driver port setting, This way the IP address will never change anytime you turn either device OFF/ON. Now your printer will be very reliable.

Changing the network from auto auta set speed sounds familiar - but I could have used that trick on another printer in the company. Will check that out - thanks.

No duplicate, set static and small lan. Seems to occur after it enters it's sleep mode.

Printer is static, never have found the new "printer magic" stuff to work very reliably or consistently. Always set static IPS for printers, servers and security gear! Thanks for the input though.

This one was the one I had tri d that on in the past - it was already set to 1000, tried changing it to 100 full and will see if that makes a difference.

Looking like the cost to repair would be more than a new unit kinda makes lugging this thing around to a shop a overly expensive repair.
