HP Laserjet P3005
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

I'll try to keep this short and simple, but I can't guarantee it. I've got an HP LaserJet P3005 printer that, after several minutes of use, will freeze up. When it freezes, it can't be pinged on the network or recognized via USB, and the dashboard doesn't respond to button input from the printer.

I've done some tests, and it's doing this even when not hooked up to the network or hooked up to a computer via USB. It's just the printer itself doing it, external of any outside factors.

No error code is displayed when this happens.

Power cycling the device lets it work for a few minutes before it freezes again. I've tried doing an NVRam Reset on the device, I've tried doing a Cold Reset. Neither of them fixed it. There aren't any jobs in the queue that seem to be affecting it either.

Previously the printer was on an older version of the Firmware, but I've updated it to the most currently downloadable version that I got from HP's support webpage. The Firmware is saying it's current as well.

One of HP's support articles for this device found at this link suggests pulling the DIMM if there are any in the device. It's the only other thing I can think of doing before I scrap the device, but I don't know how much effort is going to be required to get at the DIMM.

Any thoughts here? Is there a service manual for this device or something else you would suggest trying?

Thank you for reading this, and have a nice day!
