Laserjet m1212
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am having a similar issue as others on this message board. I had to reinstall the printer drivers on my Laserjet M1212 nf printer and now it is stuck in the initializing loop.  I have tried the HP print and scan doctor and I have tried the direct firmware update but am told it can't communicate with the printer. I am assuming because it never becomes truly 'ready' If they directions on how to correct this error I would appreciate them being sent to me.

I have had this printer for over 10 years with no issues until this last update from HP which appears to have bricked the system.

Thank you

First thing you need to determine is whether this is a hardware or software issue. I would power off the printer (pull the cord if you need to). Then disconnect any network or usb cables from the printer and try to power on the printer as a stand alone device. If it comes to ready, then the issue is likely a driver problem. If the device still gets caught in a loop, then likely you have a hardware failure. Reinstalling a driver is unlikely to cause this failure but a firmware update might have.
